Thanksgiving Place Settings for Kids

At Thanksgiving, I set a “child-friendly” special table for the grandchildren. When they are old enough to eat by themselves, they can join their older cousins. I cover the table with paper and secure it underneath with tape. I’ve used butcher paper and newsprint. (Hint: Go to a local small newspaper and ask for the ends of the rolls. There is plenty of paper left and usually it is only a couple of dollars. It makes great drawing paper and it will last you for years!) Kids don’t need a huge dinner plate so I use a salad plate at each place.  Draw around the perimeter of the plate with a marker. Add the details.

When finished, it will look like this…..

Place a glass with crayons at each place and let them color and fill the center with things for which they are thankful. This goes perfectly with the Turkey Tootsie Pop Holder and the Turkey favor made from a toilet paper roll! Check out those posts, too!

What child wouldn’t be delighted with this?

 Have fun and Happy Thanksgiving!
